Color Analysis
“I hate pink!”
“I can’t wear green.”
“Why don’t I feel good in white?”
“Yellow washes me out.”
I want you to know that you can wear every color —red, yellow, orange, green, blue, purple. It simply depends on the color’s temperature (warm or cool), value (dark or light), and intensity (bright or muted). Your best colors are those that are not warmer or cooler than you are, not lighter or darker than you are, and not brighter or duller than you are.
Wearing the “wrong” colors —those that are out of congruency with you—can make you appear older, even ill. Wrong colors can cause stress in people you interact with and will repel them, if only subconsciously.
Wearing “correct” colors —those most harmonious with you—gives the effect of having glowing skin, white teeth, health and vibrancy, and helps others connect with your eyes, and therefore, you—not with what you’re wearing. You’ll look your most approachable.
What Happens In building a color palette for you, I start by matching your hair, skin, and eyes. I then choose accent colors, neutrals and metals that harmonize and resonate with you. The visual weight of your bone structure, the intensity level of your energy, your personality characteristics, even your voice and your walk all influence the choice of colors.
Your palette, taken from a collection of about 1,400 colors, will be unique to you.
Take your palette with you while shopping to exclude pieces that won’t harmonize with your own coloring and include those that do. Your palette will guide your makeup choices. You can even use it to choose colors for rooms in your home.
